Nowhere is the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People” more evident than our industry’s sponsorship of the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run® each spring in Washington, D.C.

For the ninth year, credit unions from across the country have sponsored this nationally sanctioned run, which draws 15,000 runners and the growing attention of our nation’s leaders.  Through our sponsorship and the gracious support of our business partners, credit unions have donated more than $3.6 million to Children’s Miracle Network-affiliated hospitals in communities across America.

The popularity and impact of the Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run has made significant strides in recent years – in the number of runners and money raised for the 170 Children’s Miracle Network children’s hospitals that treat more than 17 million children annually in all 50 states.

This year we are honored to welcome 35 Members of Congress who have agreed to be Honorary Race Chairs.  We are thankful that so many Members of Congress have added their support to help credit unions increase the awareness of Children’s Miracle Network through this national credit union event.

The Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run shines a very positive light on our industry in front of our nation’s key decision makers.  Consider making a difference in the lives of children in YOUR community and furthering the reputation of credit unions across the country as we demonstrate firsthand “People Helping People!”

Now it is your turn to stand alongside our nation’s leaders and the existing credit union sponsors to strengthen our commitment to children across the country.  This event has enormous impact on the lives of children in need throughout the country.  Every sponsorship dollar donated by a credit union goes directly to the Children’s Miracle Network-affiliated hospital in THEIR community.

Unfortunately, the financial support of these hospitals does not always keep pace with their growing needs.  Although these tough economic times continue to challenge all of us, it is our responsibility as an industry to support Children’s Miracle Network today more than ever.  Make a donation today and demonstrate your credit union’s support of the children in your community!

Credit union leaders interested sponsoring the Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run and making a difference in lives of children should visit www.cucherryblossomrun.org or call 443.325.0778 for more information.
