Corporate Shares Fall In April, But Earnings Remain Steady

April was the first month of 2002 in which total shares in the Corporate system declined. The fall of 7.7 % from March's month end still left the network with a 12 month growth rate of 13.3%. Total shares of the 34 corporates were $57.7 billion with WesCorp still the largest corporate at $16. 2 billion. The average share balance was $1.7 billion across the corporate system. WesCorp was one of only two corporates to report positive share growth in the month.
