Credit Union Priorities Head In Local Direction

Cooperatives can help consumers at a local level, such as helping them secure record-low refinance rates amid leadership changes.

 
 

No matter what happens politically in 2012, we're going to see a change in the way policy priorities are thought about in Washington,  shifting away from a Washington-led solutions to locally led solutions, says Chip Filson, president of Callahan & Associates.

“The most important conclusion is that credit unions are once again in a unique position to help members access once-in-a-lifetime refi rates that can put instant savings into their pockets,” Filson says. “We are living in a low rate world.”
