D.C. Credit Unions Battle on the Race Course in This Weekend’s Credit Union Cherry Blossom Run

The 2006 Cherry Blossom 10-Mile Run will take place this Sunday here in Washington, DC. We examine which credit unions are the frontrunners for winning the team competition.

The Credit Union Cherry Blossom 10-Mile Run is a great opportunity for credit unions to show their cooperative spirit and commitment to a great cause, the Children’s Miracle Network. However, intra-credit union cooperation will be set aside this weekend for some credit union employees as they vie for bragging rights and glory in the Credit Union Cherry Blossom 10-Mile Run Team Competition.

Last year, employees of NASA Federal Credit Union ($740.7 million in assets, Bowie, MD) outpaced the defending champions from Bank-Fund Staff Federal Credit Union ($2.1 billion in assets, Washington, DC) to take home the title. Bank-Fund Staff has been dominant since the credit union team competition started in 2002, finishing in the top 3 each year. The following is a listing of the top ten credit union teams in last year’s race:
