Data just in for the second half of 2001 reveals that the credit union industry has maintained a high rate of growth in the share, loan, and investment categories.

 
 
Data just in for the second half of 2001 reveals that the credit union industry has maintained a high rate of growth in the share, loan, and investment categories. The June 30, 2001 growth rates for share, loans, and investments were 12.2%, 7.6%, and 17.3% respectively. This high growth rate contributed to the rise in the level of total industry assets to $484.9 billion, shares to $422.9 billion, and loans to $314.8 billion.

The above exhibit provides a listing of the above mentioned ratios and other key industry trends and ratios. The exhibit also shows the breakdown for trends between credit unions above and below $50 million in assets. This grouping of credit union reveals a noticeable difference in Net Income growth for large credit unions relative to smaller credit unions in the system which account for the majority of all credit unions.
