Which credit union leads the way in members to branch ratio?

Credit unions nationwide serve 4,589 members per branch on average as of June 2013, up from 4,408 reported in the previous June. The rise in members to branch ratio is attributed to both an annual increase in membership and an annual decrease in the number of credit union branches.

United Nations ($3.9B, Long Island City, NY) posted the highest members to branch ratio among credit unions with at least 2 branches as of June 2013. United Nations had a total of 101,345 members with 2 branches in operations, each serving 50,673 members on average. Pentagon ($15.8B, Alexandria, VA) came in second with 27 branches each serving 45,756 members on average. School Employees Credit Union of Washington ($949.7m, Seattle, WA) rounded out the top three with 40,467 members to branch ratio.
