Which peer group is most active in financial education?

 
 

Offering financial literacy programs is one way to put the cooperative principles into practice. Just over 2,800 credit unions offered some type of financial literacy program in the first quarter, either a financial literacy workshop, financial counseling, or financial education programs.

The credit unions over $1 billion in assets were most active in these programs. Of the 208 credit unions in this peer group, 183 offered financial literacy programs, or 88% of the peer group. Not far behind was the peer group of credit unions $500 million to $1 billion, with 87% of the 223 credit unions offering financial literacy programs.
