Which state has the highest percentage of credit unions investing in CUSOs?

Nearly 68% of credit unions in the state of Maine invested money in a CUSO at the end of the third quarter. More than two-thirds (42 of 62 credit unions) in Maine have money loaned to or invested in a CUSO. Michigan was not far behind, with more than 65% of credit unions participating in at least one CUSO.

On the other end of the spectrum, only one credit union in Delaware was actively participating in a CUSO, representing just fewer than 4% of the credit unions in The First State. Nationally, 2,233 of the 7,031 credit unions, or 32%, had active investments in a CUSO as of September 30.
