When Generations Federal Credit Union realized nearly 30% of its members were using a single product instead of taking advantage of all the credit union had to offer, the Texas cooperative designed an onboarding strategy dedicated to better engaging new as well as existing members.
According to the credit union, the data showed it had an opportunity to make new members loyal, lifetime members and create brand ambassadors So it wanted to let members know, from the beginning, about customized offers that could help them.
The credit union launched its new program in three phrases and by year-end 2015 had improved its average member relationship by 17%.
